For many families, a day trip or a week’s holiday in Blackpool was something to look forward to all summer.

Dubbed the Vegas of the North, there is nothing quite like experiencing the sights and sounds walking along Blackpool’s promenade in the sunshine.

Whether it’s pensioners flocking to the deckchairs, taking a tram ride, or the seductive allure of the neon amusement arcades, Blackpool has something for everyone.

And of course, fish and chips smell don’t smell quite as good anywhere else in the world, as when they’re wafting along The Golden Mile.

The Golden Mile is the stretch of promenade between the North and South piers that emerged in the late 19th century. It received its name partly due to the slot machines that came to dominate the area.
